Reading: HMH Module 6: Celebrate America

Essential Question: What holidays and symbols tell about our country?

Students will learn comprehension reading skills such as identifying text features, learning about elements of poetry, making and confirming predictions, evaluating important details, point of view, using text features to understand a text, and making connections.

Math: Topic 8: Understand Place Value

Essential Question: How can you count and add using tens and ones? Students will learn to identify, represent, and write the tens and ones in numbers.

Topic 9: 1 More, 1 Less; 10 More, 10 Less

Essential Question: What are ways to compare numbers to 120? Students will learn to compare 2 digit numbers using symbols greater than, less than and equal to.
